V\u00fdzkum p\u0159inesl nov\u00e9 poznatky o osudech 62 ob\u011bt\u00ed prusko-rakousk\u00e9 v\u00e1lky z roku 1866 a z\u00e1rove\u0148 p\u0159isp\u011bl k d\u016fstojn\u00e9 p\u00e9\u010di o jejich pam\u00e1tku. Patrik Tesa\u0159, Tom\u00e1\u0161 Ka\u0161par a Old\u0159ich Tr\u00e1vn\u00ed\u010dek.\r\n\r\nV\u0161em ocen\u011bn\u00fdm srde\u010dn\u011b gratulujeme a d\u011bkujeme za jejich pr\u00e1ci.\r\n\r\nLuk\u00e1\u0161 Proch\u00e1zka, Ond\u0159ej Littera, Marcela Erbanov\u00e1\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nAward for the Archaeological research of War Graves from 1866\r\n\r\nOn Sunday, 5 July 2026, the War Museum 1866 at Chlum hosted a ceremony during which commemorative plaques for Care for War Graves, awarded by the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic, were presented. The awards were given to members of the team involved in the rescue archaeological excavation along the route of the future D35 motorway.\r\n\r\nThe excavation took place in 2024 within the protected heritage zone of the Hradec Kr\u00e1lov\u00e9 battlefield. The expert direction of the research was provided by the Philosophical Faculty, University of Hradec Kr\u00e1lov\u00e9. A specially established team of experts focused on war graves, composed of specialists from the Centre for Field Archaeology, Philosophical Facult, UHK, and the Museum of Eastern Bohemia in Hradec Kr\u00e1lov\u00e9, was coordinated by archaeologist Mgr. Matou\u0161 Holas, Ph.D., and anthropologist Mgr. Marcela Erbanov\u00e1.\r\n\r\nOver several months of fieldwork, 12 war graves were excavated and documented. The research has brought new insights into the fate of 62 victims of the Austro-Prussian War of 1866 and has also contributed to the dignified care of their memory. Detailed analyses are still ongoing, and we can therefore look forward to further, certainly interesting, results from a range of scientific disciplines.\r\n\r\nFurther fieldwork and documentation were carried out by Mgr.
