V\u00a0z\u00e1vislosti na rozsahu korozn\u00edho po\u0161kozen\u00ed archeologick\u00fdch n\u00e1lez\u016f (zejm\u00e9na \u017eelezn\u00fdch) se nejprve prov\u00e1d\u00ed rentgenov\u00fd pr\u016fzkum pro zji\u0161t\u011bn\u00ed p\u0159\u00edtomnosti kovov\u00e9ho j\u00e1dra, mo\u017en\u00fdch poruch materi\u00e1lu nebo povrchov\u00fdch \u00faprav. Na z\u00e1klad\u011b rentgenov\u00e9ho pr\u016fzkumu pak prob\u00edh\u00e1 konzerv\u00e1torsk\u00fd z\u00e1sah. Ten zahrnuje podrobnou fotodokumentaci, \u010di\u0161t\u011bn\u00ed n\u00e1lezu od zbytk\u016f zeminy, \u010d\u00e1ste\u010dn\u00e9 odstran\u011bn\u00ed korozn\u00edch produkt\u016f s\u00a0ohledem na zachov\u00e1n\u00ed dochovan\u00fdch povrchov\u00fdch \u00faprav, desalinaci (odsolen\u00ed), konsolidaci, pasivaci\/stabilizaci, nanesen\u00ed ochrann\u00e9 konzerva\u010dn\u00ed vrstvy a adjustaci. Celkov\u00e1 d\u00e9lka konzervace se odv\u00edj\u00ed zejm\u00e9na od stupn\u011b zne\u010di\u0161t\u011bn\u00ed korozn\u00edmi stimulanty, jejich\u017e koncentraci je t\u0159eba sn\u00ed\u017eit pomoc\u00ed desalinace, kter\u00e1 prob\u00edh\u00e1 v\u00a0\u0159\u00e1du t\u00fddn\u016f (viz tabulka). Uveden\u00e9 doby jsou pouze orienta\u010dn\u00ed.
